My daughter in law had a chicken roasting in her slow cooker the other day and what a neat idea.  The aroma filled the kitchen and I am definitely going to try making a slow cooker chicken.  I put the above recipe on my Pinterest Crockpot board.  The recipe has a rub that includes smoked paprika and cumin.  My daughter in law put potatoes in the bottom of the crockpot to cook along with the chicken.

I found a couple of recipes and am going to experiment and see if I can find what works with my slow cooker.

One of my favorite fashion bloggers suggested the above top to wear on the 4th of July.  I like that style.

I like the above idea also to wear on the 4th from my favorite fashion blogger.  I like the red T-shirt and the two necklaces idea.  The sandals look awesome with the rolled up jeans.  The sandals are by Tory Birch and cost $195.00.  A little much for me.  But I found a really cute pair of sandals that cost $79.00 and I had a 40% off coupon at a local department store.  They are comfortable and I just needed a new pair of sandals.

I got the most delightful greens at a local farm stand today.  There was kale, swiss chard, 3 kinds of baby lettuce and radishes all picked from the garden this morning.   They had it all combined in a huge package for only $2.99.  I love it.  I also got some summer squash that was just picked and it was delicious.  Tomorrow, I am going to get some farm fresh eggs from the Farmers Market that they have on Saturdays here in town.  Also some local strawberries.

It rained here today and south of us they had awful thunderstorms.  Lightening struck within a mile of where I live on the last thunderstorm that went through a few days ago.  Glad this recent storm only had rain for here.  I don’t mind a gentle rain, but the thunderstorms are not my favorite weather.

It’s going to be a beautiful day on the 4th from what the weather predicted on the news tonight.  Yay!
