I went shopping today and found some great deals. First of all, I got some local strawberries at a Farm Stand near me and they were so sweet and delicious. The first local strawberries of the season that I was able to get. Then I got organic walnuts and organic pumpkin seeds at the Food Co-op near me. You can buy them in bulk from bins that they have and I just get a medium bag of them. I like the pumpkin seeds to add to one of my favorite banana, yogurt, chocolate, almond milk smoothie. I love putting the organic nuts in the fancy Pioneer Woman jars that I have for my pantry. I also have labels for the jars that are really neat and I will have fun with that.
I also got some garden fresh veggies that were picked from a garden this morning at the same place that I got the strawberries. I got zucchini, summer squash, patty pan squash and baby cucumbers.
I got a lettuce bag at that Farm Stand the other day that had 4 kinds of baby lettuce, kale, swiss chard and radishes in it. I made a couple of salads with the greens for two days and today I made a seafood salad to put on top of the greens. Love it. I love to make my own dressing and shaking it up in a little mason jar.
I went grocery shopping and the above plant caught my eye. I thought that it was perfect to have for over the 4th of July weekend.
Then on my way home I came upon a farm that had plants for sale at the end of their driveway. All kinds of plants for only $2.00 each. I could not resist the above Marigold plant. It looks really nice in one of my favorite planter pots.
I stored the strawberries in an air tight mason jar and put them in the fridge. I read one time the this keeps the berries fresh longer. And I have tried it and it really works.
Then gas costs $2.27 a gallon near me. The town near here in NH where I get my groceries, it was $2.19 a gallon and if you pay cash, it’s $.05 less. So It cost me only $2.14 a gallon and $10.00 filled up the tank of my Prius. Love it. ❤
A very fun Saturday.
